Happenings

In the first two weeks this site has had a lot more traffic than I would have imagined possible. The first night I had no idea what to expect when I emailed the link out and hit the sack. By the next morning the site had had over a thousand unique visitors. Holy smokes! I thought I should set up some place to post any changes to the site and also share any of the strange things I learn from websitting.

This site exists as the result of my cs50 final project. I'm a chemistry and physics concentrator in Lowell House, and have no plans to do programming "for real." I just thought it would be fun to do something similar to Overheard in New York. Of course this project wouldn't have been possible without the generous support from many sources: the teaching staff of cs50 for providing me with the coding skills to get this rolling, RK for the advice (legal, coding, and otherwise), the folks at dino comics for setting up an awesome rss service, Dreamhost for being witty, and everyone who has put up with my coding paranoia. I'm also grateful to everyone who has taken out the time to either enjoy or contribute to the overheard findings--that's what makes it all worth it.

Stay tuned for updates!
